TELL ME A STORY
… about hypertexts with characters
… about the business of art
… about the failure of the two cultures
The stories and characters described here are imaginary. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or to actual events, is purely coincidental.
Notes:
People misunderstand hypertext because they misunderstand stories.
They believe that stories begin at the beginning. (The Illiad begins in the 9th year of the war)
They believe that each item in an argument needs to be put in its place (and what does Malden have to do with Darmstadt? What's Hecuba to him, or he to Hecuba?)
They think narrative is for entertainment. For kids.
